Converting Direct Deposit to Cash

I haven't posted in awhile but have been lurking. I enjoy reading the site. When I retired, I was forced to use direct deposit. I am concerned about the health of banks, this tyrannical government, etc. What is the quickest way to convert my direct deposit to cash? My bank is thirty miles away and I don't want to open up another account at a closer bank due to the new requirements of the "Patriot Act". I know, I screwed up.. should have been going to the closer bank all along. Any ideas? Thanks.

1. why not remove the FRNs from the bank the day of deposit;
2. a 30mi day-hike would do you good ~
3. a few days ago there was a post bout using credit-union instead of banks, look for that;
4. a 30mi bibcycle ride is very good ~

as used to be said here, "have fun doing this stuff"

as I say, "there are too many people who've had the snot beaten out of em; i am not one of them"(TM)
