Re:credit card/credit report success
<FONT size=3>I decided not to wait for Experian's response re: verfication of the liens before contacting the other two CRA's.& So I paid for a triple merge&credit report today and saw that the tax liens are still on my Experian report. They received my letter on March 5. I may getting a&little impatient here, but I'm beginning to suspect they will do the same thing they did with Jerseee's letter-- ignore&it.&</FONT>
<FONT size=3>This time in my letter to TransUnion and&Equifax&I inserted Black's definition of "Verified"I also included&a copy of section 1681(g).&</FONT>
<FONT size=3>I did not send these letters certified.. which maybe a mistake.. but damn, $4.00 a letter&adds up!</FONT>
<FONT size=3>The reason I think&Experian will ignore the tax lien letter&is their slow response. My experience with these agencies has been that the&longest time I've ever had to wait for a response from them is ten days.&Experian is over the 10 day mark. &</FONT>
<FONT size=3>So, that's my beef for today.&</FONT>

<FONT size=3>Yes, you can get a single credit report from experian.com for $9.00. You'll need a credit card.& You can access the report almost immediately after the transaction goes through. T</FONT><FONT size=3>here is one question they will&ask you before&allowing you access to it, but you should be able to answer it if you know what credit cards you have.&</FONT><FONT size=3>& </FONT>
<FONT size=3>I got three merged reports today with the credit score for $30.00 - if you want to know where I got them from just let me know..</FONT>

Re:credit card/credit report success
Here is a little tip: once you get a report from Experian, you can view the live report at any time by choosing the dispute option on their site and entering your details...

If so, there are no absolutes, and the only logical conclusion is that reality, truth, and right and wrong are determined arbitrarily on a daily basis by those with the most power, guns, and money, and the rest of us can choose to run, fight, or be their slaves.

Re:credit card/credit report success
Tora and forum,
Let's take a step back and analyze the situation.
First and foremost, it is important to read the code before citing it in your letter. If you go through and read the code thoroughly, you will learn that they (the CRAs) can be punished for Non-complinace. So that is part of your remedy.
Second, CRAs have 30 days to do their investigative work. Any response received from them prior to the coded 30 days is a gift.
Third, the verification letter should be sent out to all three CRAs. the wording of your correspondence is very important. If you word it and it sounds like a dispute then it can be treated as such. One should be brief, concise, precise and to the point. By writing a novel to the CRAs, only opens the door to an argument.
Finally, never argue! NEVER ARGUE! Never argue about an ALLEGED DEBT that you are not certain of. that is the whole point of the CRAs to do their investigation. If you argue, IMHO you take the CRAs ability to investigate away and prolong the process. I have gotten positive results everytime I did it the way I have outlined.
Now I cannot guarantee that someone else will get the same results but, If I can be allowed to teach an open mind, free from barriers, then the process I offer is really simple and based on all the things that we already know. We just don't use it often.
So let's summarize:
1. Read the codes and understand them
2. Know the codes and be patient
3. Notify all three CRAs simultaneously
4. Keep notifications brief, concise, precise and to the point.
5. NEVER ARGUE (my favorite)
This should limit and possibly eliminate any misunderstanding about your correspondence to the CRAs. I usually give them 60 days to satisfy my needs, so I plan accordingly and patiently wait. Grace is also key in this situation. If you are not gracious, you may lose your honorable position.
have fun

release of federal tax lien

One should examine the proper way to clean up credit records. Jim told me one day that he checked and the IRS had cleaned up his entire credit record - after releasing this lien.
