Copyright Name?

Hello all,

Glad to be the new kid on the block.

I suppose to get started, I would like to copyright my name, if it is possible. Can anyone tell me a good place to go.

Alot of the web sites I am viewing, states that a name can not be copyrighted.

I am currently working on my first UCC filing.

I can't wait to have my freedom.

Your not copyrighting a name. Your copyrighting a corporate legal fiction known in all capitol letters, if it is to pertain to you.

Dig around in there.

Objection ! Question is Vague ! lol

You might start with Cracking the Code 3 (get it cheap on Ebay.)

Your name cannot... but a trade name can be !

zin67,

Welcome to the site. I would not copyright the tradename I would trademark it and copyright the autograph. This way there is no dought that it is lawful. Tradenames are trademarked all the time. McDonalds, Movie Gallery, Burger King, etc are all trade marks. There is no doubt that you can restrict the use thereof. Check out www.jhdassociates.com for further verification of this.

zin,

I have come to the point that I believe it to be unnecessary to copyright or trademark.

You state that you can't wait to be free ... here's some good news for you -- You already are Free. You just need to learn how to exercise that freedom in this brainwashed society that we have to deal with.

zin,

I agree with Ice regarding the trade-name mark issue. At the very most I would use the trademark as a flanking utility with regard to debt collectors. Ask the guys at JHD etc. if they have ever collected on an outstanding invoice for unauthorized use of one's name i.e. property. I know that the answer is NO.

The best recommendation that anyone can offer is that you study the law and its procedure. In my opinion there is a great deal to be said about administrative law and private administrative settlement and or collateral estoppel, however if someone has made up their mind that they are going to sue you, you'd best know how to operate in a court room or you are toast -- plain and simple.

If you want to get started about the very basics of court I recommend how to represent yourself in court by Nolo's Press. Mind you that it is a system oriented book however there is a lot of good information in this book that can help.

Thanks all !!

I know that the copyright/ trademark of the strawmans name is more or less just a "flanking utility". But the cost is low, and it will add to my fledgling arsenal..lol.

In the mean time, I am reading everything and listening to every taped seminar I can make time for.

So far, I like Badnarik, Freeman, and Mcleod.

What other gurus should I study?

Taeek ker !!

I think it was Jersee that has mentioned using a DBA (doing business as) notice to the county recorder as a way to differentiate the the ALL CAPS fiction and the normal name. This kinda crosses over into the UCC-1FS filing as well.

Can anyone comment on the benefit of this?

rushpat,

It is something that I keep in my back pocket if they want to play games with who I am or who they think I am.

THey must prove their claim and I must prove mine (if need be). By having the county recorder and the SoS have my filing showing the difference between me and the ALL CAPS is invaluable (IMHO). Because I have public officials as witnesses to the filing and the difference.

has anyone expatriated; and then filed the expat/repat document along with truth in commerce (name copywrite) and power of attorney with the SOS and County Recorder/Clerk of Deeds/Mortages and tied all together with a UCC1 land description?
