Is a telephonic hearing always BAD?

I don't want to miss work when possible. My motion to clarify visitation was recently denied by a judge and a few folks said that the reason was that I appeared telephonically.

I was 1000 miles away from the court.

Do they think I am made of gold?

Is appearing telephonically always "BAD"?

Without Prejudice.
I wouldnt suggest doing that kind of thing over the phone. Try instead:

1) Mail.
2) Fax.

I am talking about the actual hearing though. How could you have a hearing by fax or mail?

I feel dumb lol.

Who needs a hearing when subpoena duces tecum or the like can be done? What can be discussed by telephone that cannot be put into writing via fax or mail?
