Exclamation Curious case of Kent Hovind

Thought I would do a general post here about Dr. Kent Hovind to make some more people aware of his case. Him and his Wife are currently in jail for failing to pay withholding taxes and 40+ counts 'structuring' withdrawals.

The case against him is available on Pacer Anyone with credit or debit card can sign up for a Pacer account and read Federal cases and his case number is

3:06-cr-00083-MCR

It will cost .08 a page but the first $10.00 is not billed if you do not go over $10.00

Also, you can read comments from him at cseblogs.com

He is a Christian Preacher/Teacher and teaches the Young Earth theory and the Bible through his video and audio seminars. To get an Idea of the type of material he teaches, you can watch his videos on Google Video. None of his stuff is copyrighted and can be redistributed freely. Would recommend his very first 'Age of the Earth' seminar here to get started and see what he is all about. Super interesting video by the way no matter what you believe. (if nothing else you will learn to shoot a rubber band farther than anyone else)

http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...35066145651150

All of his seminars are available on Google Video and also several debates with Evolutionists. Before he was put in jail, he traveled around teaching this material at churches all over the world. He tells a lot of corny jokes but would highly recommend his videos. Just try to watch with a open mind and he might step on your toes a bit but keep watching. Also, besides teaching he has a small theme park/museum called Dinosaur Adventure land in Pensacola Florida. You can read about that at www.drdino.com which is another one of his websites.

No matter what you believe or think about Dr. Hovind and paying taxes, this guy's punishment does not fit his alleged 'crimes' If you read the actual case, you will see that the IRS has just placed liens on his property for over $400,000.00 and him and his wife are also facing over 200 years each in prision - All this guy did was stand up for his beliefs and try to run his Church and teach people about the Bible. He did not want to be a 501c3 because he felt it would be asking for a license for his church from the government. Most of the counts on the indictment are for taking the churches money out of their bank in increments less than $10K and it appears that most of this money went to pay his employees and expenses in cash. Funny thing is that my understanding is that actually he did not violate the Structuring law as he would have had to do multiple withdrawals that added up to more than 10K per day. So he didn't even break the law he is being charged with that is meant to catch drug dealers and terrorists, not ministers.

Please read about his case and if you can write the court and the prosecutor and ask for mercy for him and his wife. Please send kind letters so as not to make his situation any worse. Also, If you could also pray for him and his wife to get out of jail and get probation instead of any jail time and that the government would not take his property, museum, etc. away from him. It is a terrible fearful thing that has happened to him and should never happen to a pastor in the USA.

This guy was one of the main reasons that I started to believe in and fear God. I have never met him but consider him a friend and I don't think he would ever hurt a flea. Maybe he should have paid the taxes or whatever but he deserves another chance and to be let out of jail. They are taking away his property and his liberty and the whole thing just makes me feel terrible.

Any prayer or help that the readers here could give I am sure he would appreciate. PS, thanks to Rottweiler for the information.

I don't know who wants to shut him up but they have done a very nice job of it. Would probably help if outside parties wrote any letters at all to the court ( even if it is anonymously - can't hurt to let them know the public is watching ) Check his cseblogs.com page for the address and his side of the story.

Rottweiler, read the lost at sea document you recommended me with great interest also looking forward to listening to link Fortherepublic posted tomorrow.thank you!!. Having a hard time understanding some of lost at sea but I am new to this. Found the other info about the gold fringed US flag in the courtroom in the thread also very interesting. Watched another Internet video a while back about the Waco conflict - Noticed that one of the first things that happened after the ATF secured the compound was that they took the Branch Davidians flag down and ran an ATF flag up. At the time when I was watching the video, I thought this was an extremely strange thing to do after all those people were killed. - Judging by this, the flag is pretty important even if people would try to dismiss it, this proves it beyond a shadow of a doubt.

If you haven't seen it video is called Rules of Engagement and has two parts -available on Google Video. Incredibly sad what happened to these people. Big Media really biased what came out about this whole thing. I guess I AM waking up.

Edited to add - I hope someone that knows how might post the Hovind Case documents from Pacer here on Sui Juris - There are a bunch of them so maybe lump them together as a zip file or something. This is part of public record right so is there any problem with posting here or another website? Let me tell you there are some very weird (to me) affidavits from the prosecutor, etc. that are part of the docket filings I was reading. Indictment was filed under seal at first too. So strange to find all of your beliefs about your USA shaken to the core.

Hovind's folly...

Kent Hovind missed the key to his rescue. That he has the right by law to have been redeeming Federal Reserve Bank notes all the while.

http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...0&q=income+tax

He simply states that the bankers/Congress is breaking the law (30 Minute Mark).* Well he may be right and if so then there is nothing we can do but set government straight somehow so that good people do not end up in prison with the bad people.

However one should study carefully what the Treasury is saying in light of the law attached. (7:30 Minute Mark)

http://friends-n-family-research.inf...ublicMoney.wmv

http://www.treas.gov/education/faq/c...l-tender.shtml

Quote:
United States notes serve no function that is not already adequately served by Federal Reserve notes. As a result, the Treasury Department stopped issuing United States notes, and none have been placed into circulation since January 21, 1971.

Just because the Treasury stopped issuing USNs does not mean that they are not still circulating, like the Treasury says above, in the form of Federal Reserve Notes.

Regards,

David Merrill.

* It would not be surprising if the Treasury wrote a letter saying that Congress has not defined lawful money. But that is untrue according to the article in my video. Congress has defined legal tender to be lawful money.

(Here is a copy of the e-mail I sent George Noory (Coast to Coast am) regarding the situation):

Hello, George!

THANK YOU for your informative, enlightening shows! I have learned more from your radio program than anywhere or anything else on the planet!!! For this I am very grateful.

I wanted to apprise you of the current dreadful situation regarding Dr. Kent Hovind, in case you were not already aware:

To quote a friend of mine:

"Dr Hovind and his wife are currently in jail for failing to pay withholding taxes and for 40+ counts of 'structuring' withdrawals.

"No matter what you believe or think about Dr. Hovind and paying taxes, this guy's punishment does not fit his alleged 'crimes' If you read the actual case, you will see that the IRS has just placed liens on his property for over $400,000.00 and him and his wife are also facing over 200 years each in prison - All this guy did was stand up for his beliefs and try to run his Church and teach people about the Bible. So he didn't even break the law he is being charged with that is meant to catch drug dealers and terrorists, not ministers."

I personally have worked for a 501c3 non-profit church, so I understand that churches are not liable for certain taxes due to being tax-exempt. Dr. Hovind apparently was operating his church as a not-for profit, without filing the 501c3 with the IRS...

However, I have heard from multiple sources, including a church minister with a different organization who tell me the 501c3 is not necessary to file as the Constitution guarantees that the government does not have jurisdiction over any church, not in collection of taxes, or any matter. Here is the quote I received on this:
An interesting look at IRS control of churches. A point not made in the following article is that churches are automatically tax exempt and don’t need to apply for a 501 (C) (3) exemption. The church could also function as a 508 Corporation Sole and again avoid the 501 controls and restrictions of the IRS. Share this information with all churches. Call or email questions.
In any case, I think it would really help Dr. Hovind if we got the word out regarding this terrible miscarriage of justice (especially in light of Aaron Russo's research regarding the 16th Amendment!)

Kent Hovind can state at allocution (sentencing) his intent to have been redeeming private credit retroactively. The "judge" will say, "Have you anything to say before I execute this sentence."

That will be his queue.

David Merrill.

Siren, thanks for your letter! His sentencing is January 9th. I was thinking about this guy having to spend Christmas in jail away from his wife and three kids and his grandkids. One of the first things he mentions in most of his videos and lectures is his wife and kids and shows pictures of them. If you think about how he must hurt while he is there, it is a terrible thing.

If the guy has no documentation which rebuts the presumption of possessing "U.S. Citizenship" and which proves that the agencies have accepted his status as a Florida National; he is presumed to be a rebel and can be punished anyway they see fit

He is property of the Feds by possessing the status of an enemy (u.s. citizen)

all of the best title26 / Supreme curt cases, etc . . . can't save him until he corrects his status to that of a Florida National pursuant to its pre-14th Amendment constitution

the thread entitled "14th Amendment Section 2" in the citizenship forum
