So I had another CHP encounter...
Its late last nite and had some friends over drinking at the house and its time to leave and my friend is very drunk, so i told him ill take him to his car which is in the neighboring city. We drive down drop him off and im heading back on the freeway, mind you its 3:00am and theres almost nobody on the freeway, and im doing about 75-80 the most....then my friend notices a CHP car and tells me that its a cop, so i put the car in cruise control at around 70 adn we just coast it for a while, thinking hes gonna pass by us..but no, he pulls me over.
So as usual, he tells me that im pulling you over for speeding, and i responded with an "excuse me sir, but where was I speeding ?" and "didnt u see that mercedes fly by my on the on ramp right there ?" So he gets a litte irritated and tells me "Are you getting smart with me ?" At this point im furiated but i dont know what to do or say, because im REALLLY not in the mood for an arguement with this loser. So as a result of my honest questions, he tells me to pop the hood of my car. So i follow instructions and go back in the car.
He comes back and issues me a ticket for speeding at 90miles an hour, a front driver and passenger , and a modified exhaust. Im so mad i cant contain myself and i tell him, how did u come up with 90 ? He responds " We were pacing you right before you got on the onramp before the turn" and hes stumbling and mumbling as hes saying this. So now, im stuck with this damn ticket, for something that i did not do..if i was doing 90 like he says, that the black mercedes must have been wayyy off the legal limit, but he decides to pull over the car with the bigger spoiler and modified looking. Guys im so sick and tired of CHP man...theyre really getting to me lately and i dont know what to do.
I did some homework on the tint and exhaust violations and it turns out this idiot does not know what hes talking about, here they are:
26708. (a) (1) No person shall drive any motor vehicle with any object or material placed, displayed, installed, affixed, or applied upon the windshield or side or rear windows.
(For this one, he wrote Front side windows tinted. Which obviously doesnt even make a dimes worth of sense in the Vehicle Code.)
27150. (a) Every motor vehicle subject to registration shall at all times be equipped with an adequate muffler in constant operation and properly maintained to prevent any excessive or unusual noise, and no muffler or exhaust system shall be equipped with a cutout, bypass, or similar device.
(This ones for my exhaust in which he wrote Modified Exhaust, once again doesnt coincide with the Vehicle Code)
I need some help as to how to approach this, if possible...thanks for reading guys, sorry its so long.
