Supersedeas Bond?

Could somebody tell me what a "Supersedeas Bond" is and how it is used?& I ran across this when I was reading about HJR-192.& I've never heard of it before.

Thanks,

Wirlwind

Re:Supersedeas Bond?

Black's 6th& Supersedeas bond- A bond required of one who petitions to set aside a judgment or execution and from which the other party may be made whole if the action is unsuccessful. See Fed.R.Civil P. 62;& Fed.R.App.P 7 and 8.

Somebody else will need to chime in and asplane.

Holy Cow, just yesterday somebody was explaining to me that if I was going to ask for a judgment to be voided I should offer to get a bond backing it.& He said that this might get the judge to take me more serious.& I guess this is what he was referring to.
