To limit the jurisdiction of Federal courts in certain cases and promote federalism.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

I just came across this. I guess many of you may have already seen it. Soes anyone know if this has been passed?



SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the `Constitution Restoration Act of 2004'.

TITLE I--JURISDICTION , SEC. 101. APPELLATE JURISDICTION.

(a) IN GENERAL-

(1) AMENDMENT TO TITLE 28- Chapter 81 of title 28, United States Code, is amended by adding at the end the following:

`Sec. 1260. Matters not reviewable

`Notwithstanding any other provision of this chapter, the Supreme Court shall not have jurisdiction to review, by appeal, writ of certiorari, or otherwise, any matter to the extent that relief is sought against an element of Federal, State, or local government, or against an officer of Federal, State, or local government (whether or not acting in official personal capacity), by reason of that element's or officer's acknowledgement of God as the sovereign source of law, liberty, or government.'.

I think that that bill was introduced by Richard Shelby who is a senator for Alabama. It is regarding Judge Roy Moore who was removed from office because he wouldn't back down on the Ten Commandments being displayed in the state capitol in Montgomery. I don't think it has been passed. That has been a big controversy in the state of Alabama for the last year or so. A lot of people have had a lot of negative things to say about Roy Moore, and I personally don't know him ( I live in Alabama not far from where he was a judge before he was appointed as an Alabama Sup. Court judge), but when he was a judge in Gadsden, he had the Ten Commandments behind his chair in the courtroom and refused to take them down there also. Richard Shelby (senator) and Aderholt (house for Alabama) have been very supportive of Roy Moore. I have respect for the man for the simple fact that he has lost his job and is standing up for what he believes in ( and what I believe in also.) He said that too many people have backed down on the issue of Christianity and that people have got to take a stand and quit letting Christian values and principles take a backseat to the evil and apathy that is pervading our country from every angle. So he said he would start that by refusing to back down on the issue of displaying the Ten Commandments in federal and state buildings. I think that is why Shelby introduced the bill. Don't know if it has been passed or not.
