Chapter 13 Sticky Situation

I really don't want to go into the courthouse and start rocking the boat right off the bat, but check out this form, and tell me what you would do.

http://www.uscourts.gov/bkforms/official/b21.pdf

I (me, the real live flesh and blood) don't have a SSN.

I can't say with enough certainty to the point I believe it enough to risk $250,000 fine and 5 years in prison that the STRAWMAN/DEBTOR has one.

I guess I just need to ask the court what to do, huh? and ask them to put it in writing.

You mean *you* really, really don't have one, or you "prefer" not to give it?

If you got one, hell, fill out the forms and be done with it.

Ain't it something? The only "legal" setting in which I've ever, ever felt like I was being treated "fairly" and with "justice" is in a damned bankruptcy court. It may be the only time you get treated like a "person" (flesh-and-blood) but, ironically, it's an open admission of all that "contract" stuff. Yeah, go figure.

(Sure makes the tax-agents vanish into thin air!)

HB,

Too big a risk in my opinion. Experience shows that most often "they" do not listen and do not want to be taught. They have steel toed boots and when you stand right in front of them with feet spread slightly apart as you are in this case, the kick will be too much to take if patterns show themselves.
I hate to say it. We all really want to "go down fightin'" but if you're down hard and long, you're uselss too.
I did not get my daughters' SS numbers for a few years because I thought it just might not be right, but my tax advisor said he "just wouldn't advise" going this long and claiming them on my 1040's, so I finally filed and got the dreaded papers. It was only 5 years later that I realized my stupidity.
I never even got a SS until I was 15 because some employer told me I couldn't wash dishes for him if I didn't have one. Can't even blame my mom. I am the only one to blame for being ignorant.

I wonder what that guy would have said if you asked why you needed to enroll in a gov't-sponsored retirement program just to be able to wash his dishes?

Too bad I was too clueless at that fine age of 15. More free then than I even knew! Wow. If this employer had perhaps said, "Here, Scott. Hold out both of your hands so that I can shackle them for your. Trust me. It is for your own good and everybody does it." I just might have been more suspicious.
