Going to Jail for contempt

Anyone here ever had it happen?

Just curious about the length of accomodations, room service, etc.

Oh joy!!!

Contempt of Court is a general catch-all charge that can be frustrating, to say the least.

I can't count the number of times I have been chucked in the grey-bar hotel for contempt of court, over the past few years. That is why I study and preach what I do... I do not like the food. (grin)

Man, do I have some war-stories from those time(s)...!

Wanna give em' a run for the money/time?

Do a F.O.I.A. on the county commissioners or county administrator and request all documents pertaining to the account on JOHN DOE (your name, all caps). Request such records for all bonds & insurances related to this account.

Contempt of Court = Voluntary Compliance

For the Record: Your honor, I do not mean to be held in contempt of court.

Have fun!!!

Explain the FOIA. I just might give it a try?

F.o.i.a.

F.O.I.A. = Freedom Of Information Act, request.

But, the strength of the content would be the "Bond".

Thanks WG,

I don't know that I'll have time for that before my next hearing, but here is what I am thinking:

Judge, is that Civil Contempt or Criminal Contempt?

If Criminal, Where is the injured party?

If Civil, I demand to see the contract I entered with this court that gave me full disclosure that asking questions or telling the truth would be contemptuous.

Judge. can one be held in criminal contempt in a civil case?

If so, where may I find the rules which dictate that?

I'd rather be in jail for "contempt of court" than be the contemptable SOB who puts me there.

First, we kill all the lawyers......

Then anyone and everyone who's ever produced, or starred, on any "reality TV" show.....

Wink

There is a very time consuming process the court MUST follow in order to charge you with contempt of court. It takes several weeks to do the investigation etc that is required. The ONLY persons who can be tossed in the gray-bar without an investigation are the Liars who are officers of the court.

So if a judge tells you he will hold you in contempt your response should be "You better do it the right way!"
