In this context, what is your explanation of "impossible?"

One man's impossibility might be another's challenge.

Does CASE LAW equal TRUTH?

The readers here might enjoy taking this poll over at quatloos:

Some of the lawyers and ex-judges over there seem to think that the current state of case law does equal truth... what do YOU think?

Question truth?

truth????? I was in court one time and the judge was going thru his systemactic routine of telling each victim who came before his bench that they had the constitutional right to a lawyer, to say and do certain things, etc. When i got up there he was getting ready for the ROUTINE, when i interrupted him and said, "excuse me, I have a Constitutional Right to know the Nature and Cause of this action". He got angry and read the CHARGES to me, and i said ,"is it criminal or civil". He got angry and entered a plea of innocent for me and ordered me out the courtroom. ( i shouldve accepted his plea as a judicial determination), anyway, how in the Hell can they be arbitors of truth when they spill their rhetoric, then when you tell them to go BY THEIR RHETORIC, THEY GET UPSET AND BLOW THEIR TOP. PLEEASE, i dont have to go to quatloos to know that lawyers are a piece of crap, look in the Bible and see what Jesus said about lawyers, let quatloos debate that. Which the lyers, i mean attornies pretending to be lawyers will do because they rebel against the Most High for money and prestige. Judge Roy in it for the BEANS. peeace ha ha ha

In New York law, at least, if you sign a contract agreeing to do something, it is no defense that what you agreed to do is impossible, because you should have realized that before you signed the contract. At least that's how I read this case which I found in the library (sorry, I don't have a link):
Kal Kim Corp. v. Central Market, 70 N.Y.2d 900 (1997).

All I know is if you have a contract you are supposed to understand the contract and have a meeting of the minds and since most of us do not then the contracts should be void. But, tell that to a court. Even if you file they will only ignore it by saying it is a frivolous statement which in court means they choose to ignore it. Good Luck.
