The state always presumes jurisdiction... If you never contracted with the state via a marriage license, they would still assume jurisdiction, and they would still attempt to hold you accountable for the support. It would just be easier to challenge jurisdiction, without the marriage license.

i know this is off point and im sorry but i had to tell u Iamfree, that brought tears to my eyes im sittin here cryin like a baby. i always wish i was the only one who had to go through that mess but i guess not. however you are blessed with another family...my best goes out to you and yours.

also for all, yes the state does go for juris as the baby was born in that state and the state is liabel for taking care of it under parens patrie(?) state as parent. and since we dont rebut that it stands as truth. look in your statutes find that one and rebut it BEFORE you have a child.
