Bills of Pains and Penalties

according to the constitution, a bill of attainder (capital offenses) and a bill of pains and penalties (other offenses) is unlawful. Both bills are defined as punishment BEFORE there is a judicial determination of guilt or innocence. So, according to that, any arrest which leads to you being incarcerated and doing time BEFORE a& court verdict is unlawful and thus a violation of due process. Any comments anyone.

There's no delicate way to say what I think about this stuff. Just "bastards"! Sit in jail for days, weeks, months, no "formal charges," THEN released (maybe--if you "meet the conditions--bond, whatever), THEN a "trial." And IF you're found innocent/not guilty, oh, well, sorry 'bout that.


Oh, and let's not add that the front page of the paper ran the story about your arrest and the accusations. But print a follow-up regarding the acquital? Never happen.
