Black's Law 2nd Ed.

For those strapped for cash, here's a downloadable copy of Black's Law Dictionary 2nd Edition.

It's just over 370 megs

Thanks for the link, Akira. I used to keep an old copy of Black's, one of Bouvier's, and the maxims in with my sovereignty files. Is there any reason we can't upload it into the Downloads section, Sui Juris?

I have a digital copy of Black's first edition also if anyone needs... it is very large (320mb) but I can put it to a link for you to download at request.

Is there any specific advantage to the older editions of Blacks?

(Haven't been tainted?)

No difference whatsoever.. the courts are allowed to use whatever source they personally prefer. Older editions are subject to the Erie decision doctrine in that they relate to Law rather than Public Policy.

I agree

No real advatages... However, what is interesting is seeing how some definitions have morphed over time. Just like any other dictionary over time.
