GM Plans to Cut 25,000 U.S. Jobs by 2008

Thought it would be appropriate to post this here. Looks more and more like the American people are losing out. Now GM plans on cutting lots of jobs. Gee, the economy must be doing great, huh!!! Not only is this hurting those that work at GM, but the trucking indusrty as well. The trucking industry is the largest private employer in the country. If the cars are not being made the car haulers are not carrying them. All the FRNs that are continuing to be created are also making things so much better too. LOL.

I tell ya, the more the "dollar" is devalued, the more our economy will tank. Things are not looking good folks. Do you have a lot of those nifty little FRNs stuffed in your mattress? Gee, look like you better go out and get some more.

Red face As SJ said in another thread...

History is a great teacher. Look back and see that this nation was founded on the initiative of free-thinking individuals that had cottage industries and were mostly self-suffucient or traded goods and or labor for that which they could not personally produce. If you don't have a piece of dirt that you are using to feed yourself, shame on you. If you don't offer to exchange labor before jumping in with worthless FRNS, shame again.
As free-thinkers, we should be looking back and 'paying forward' -- making minor adjustments on a daily basis and sharing with others.

Okay, off my soapbox for now

Sounds like GM is starting to get desperate. The unions are killing the company like parasites, GM's only hope for survival is to move as much of its business out of here as possible, as quickly as possible. Lets see... with the unions it costs GM around $50 or $60 an hour per greedy little lazy employee. For the same job in mexico, it costs $2 to $3 an hour. They spend so much money on worthless union workers here that their cars actually generate a negative cashflow each year, the only thing holding them afloat is their financing program.

If there werent dumb US government rules and regulations for them to follow protecting the parasites(unions), because the number of people looking for jobs is high, they could just fire all the useless workers, drive away the money parasites, hire more useful workers, stay profitable, and keep all the jobs in this country, where they would likely prefer to stay.

I cant wait to see what happens when people lose all faith in the FRN, and it plummets in value. Its gonna be fun to watch.
