Urgent Message About Gasoline
If you are on the east coast, or are served by THIS pipeline, [in case the map is removed, it serves Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, (probably Florida) Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, Tennessee, New Jersey and New York,] I'd recommend filling up TODAY.
I received information from a very reliable source who says that the pipeline is not moving. and if it is not moving by Friday the filling terminals will be out that fill the trucks that haul gas.
Another note. if they are out for a day, it takes a week to catch up.
See this link, and pay attention to number 5.
Not good for the east coast.

As I was reading this...
...ABC News just reported the identical situation as described by HB.

I think they called me to ask, then they ran the story.
I am amazed that they are putting this on TV.
Get it while you can.

I was in town and people were mobbing several of the gas stations, the prices were at about $2.80 - $2.90.
I spoke with several people and they were trying to fill up because they heard gas would hit $3 by the weekend.
So imagine the reaction when people catch wind of this news.

Pump Shotgun would be a healthy addition, if you don't have one.

I am getting reports that gas stations in the upstate SC area are running out already, and ones that still have gas in the ground are telling people that when it is gone they will not be getting more for an unknown period of time, days or maybe a week.

I topped off my gas at $2.70/g this morning and by 5pm the price was from $3.15-5.87/g. Welcome to Atlanta. Georgia broke through the national average for the first time in history 2weeks ago and hasn't looked back since.

Reminds me of Y2K
Seeing the total callopse of infrastructure in the wake of Katrina, coupled with the resulting fuel situation, brings back memories of my Y2K preps and memories of what it COULD be like. Can you imagine? Everybody broke, pissed off, AND stuck at home??? Is this the beginning of our Y2K?
Just cracked open 55 gal of regular (at .79/gal.) stored in '99. Fresh as the day it was pumped.
Look at the New Orleans situation and prepare accordingly; just in case....
