The military services must REALLY be behind in their recruting quotas for any rep to be introducing this piece of crap bill into Congress! I have already been there and done the military thingy for 4 years so I wont be getting called (besides I will turn 43 this fall! ) It will be interesting to see if Dubya's lil hoochies will get sent to the front should a national draft pass! LOL

It is hard for me to believe that Charles Rangel, an African American, one of the great liberals of all time (and no friend of George Bush) would initiate this kind of a bill. If so, I can't even imagine how they could coerce him to do this. How many black youths will die if this bill is passed? Someone needs to make sure this is true because I have some difficulties believing this (not that they are trying to re-institute it, but that a man such as Rangel would be hawking it).

I have an interesting idea though. Why don't they take the illegal aliens who want to become citizens, put them in the military instead, have them serve two years and then give them citizenship (or their families if they don't survive). If they are willing to fight for this country, I think that might make them worthy of citizenship. Put them through training (they might even teach them to speak English while they're at it) instead of dealing with the immigration problem the way they are currently. The illegals probably would get paid better in the military (certainly would have better benefits and if they have families provision could be provided for them possibly) than they do working illegally. Just a thought.

This is very scary stuff. It's sounds like not only will this put our sons in jeopardy but if passed, our daughters as well. I don't see how the American people can stand for this. If true, it seems as the government is now starting to push the American people to its limits.

I was kind of hoping someone would either verify or discredit this. If anyone thinks there's two political partys in this country still, they should start pay a little more attention to things.

Whether or not this is true, I do strongly suspect we'll have a draft after the next CIA staged "terrorist" attack when we need to invade some other oil producing nation (probably Iran).

In regards to your suggestion about "illegal aliens," I just wanted to supply a thought as well. Not to stray to far from the topic of the forum but:

At least when it comes to those immigrating from Mexico and other southern Latin countries, it doesn't really make sense in my mind to bar them from this country for any reason. I heard someone else's argument on the matter of "Hispanic" immigrants into the U.S. and I feel that it made a great deal of sense. He stated that because many of these people's ancestors were Native Americans to whom this land originally can be said to have belonged and from whom it was taken by violent means and/or trickery, it is unfair for those who now claim ownership of this stolen land to bar the descendants of the original inhabitants from pursuing happiness and liberty in this land. If one were to look at this from the supposed ideals which this (so-called) nation holds, then according to the law of this land, they are still the true owners and should be allowed to travel freely to and throughout this nation.



To bring it closer to home (I assume from your post that you are black, an African-American, an African-descendant): Imagine an entirely different ethnic group suddenly seizing control over Africa by illegal means and then barring us (African-descendants) from the land of our ancestors and forced those who inhabitted the land out. (Let's not even get into the argument of the many "African-Americans" who do not now and possibly never would claim Africa as their home or "motherland.) This is just a scenario to illustrate my point. I admit that it is not the best scenario for my case but I imagine that you get the idea. It's just a thought. I don't expect to change your or anyone else's mind on the matter, just sharing an alternate perspective.

Thus, your proposal, I believe when following that logic, isn't very fair. You could argue that it is for various reasons but I'm not interested in arguing. Not to sound pig-headed or stubborn or anything, though I have made up my mind about the subject. This just isn't a topic I would want to spend hours addressing.

I hope I wasn't rambling or coming off harsh. It's just hard to get across the right feeling when you are relaying your opinion online. A lot of people get very defensive.

Folks, the only remedy I see is to administratively challenge/rebut/cancel any U.S. Citizenship presumption to the proper agencies with the proper citations in law.

Then after they have been notified, start working the default on the selective service

knowing about OMB numbers on 1040 forms ain't gonna rebut the presumption that you should get drafted or get a national ID card

IF he is amember of the CFR, then it would make sense

OR if not and in the alternative;

There is philosophy that a draft will bring in "non-soldier" types which will help neutralize the aggressive behavior of the average soldier who is trained to be such

The end result so desired is that the soldiers start to be influenced in such a way not to be aggressive and everyone goes home

Pretty sick if you ask me, but this is the theiry that gets passed around in those circles
