I agree with most of the selections listed, although some I haven't seen. I would just like to add 2 of my favorite "feel-good" movies:

It's A Wonderful Life (B&W Jimmy Stewart version)

The Sandlot ("You're killing me Smalls!")

I was also wondering what you all liked about the movies that you listed. I'm trying to get some DVD rental ideas.

Still haven't seen Brazil, I need to. And speaking of Terry Gilliam, go see the Monty Python/Holy Grail dvd - there's a hiliarious clip of the "Camelot" song---done entirely in stop animation with lego men!!

I forgot my favorite movie of all times would have to be Braveheart or the Passion. I don't know which.

"THE STING"...

GREAT MUSIC AND GREAT THEME.

IT MADE ME AWARE THAT WE ARE LIVING IN A MAKE-BELIEVE WORLD SOMETIMES AND ARE BEING DUPED.

The Alamo

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

Northfork

The Alamo - I saw this DVD that other night and of course, I would recommend it to everyone here. They completely rebuilt the whole Alamo Mission and the neighboring town where Santa Anna staged his attack. I liked Billy Bob as Crockett but did think they could have done better with the actors who played Travis, Bowie, and Sam Houston.

For you thinkers out there, check out a new release called "Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind". This film is simply brain candy. You wouldn't go wrong with another DVD called "NorthFork". NorthFork reminds us that there are still those who regard film as an artform. Northfork is eye candy and brain candy at the same time.

<font color=darkblue face=verdana>Does anyone have a critique of "Passion of the Christ" that they'd like to share? I'd be curious to hear what you all thought about it.

Well I posted mine in the very first message. Should I elaborate on it?

People need to keep in mind that they are watching a movie. While the movie is very moving, we are only watching an artist's recreation of a historic event. My thoughts on the movie and the historic event are two different things.

I really would like to see a movie based on the Book of Acts.

Hands down, regardless of genre, etc, it has to be:
