"The Way of the Warrior"
I have been built up and encouraged by the sharing and knowledge, and the sense of fellowship with many going through similar struggles and battles in the quest to live free.I have a sense that I should share a lyric to a song I wrote clear back in 1989.I believe it carries a particular anointing and may destroy a yoke of heaviness and discouragement for someone.BTW,Thanks to buscador for recent help and encouragement.
"The Way of the Warrior"
I'm a man under command, I'm a soldier with a mission,
' was born to overcome, to withstand any condition,
I laugh, I bleed, I cry, but I'm not led by emotion,
I have a higher call and it demands all my devotion
I lift the sword of Truth and cut through superstition,
I won't be bound by lies nor shackled by tradition,
I fight with mighty weapons that aren't human but divine,
For in my vow to serve the King,I made His battles mine,
This is the Way of the Warrior
(Chorus)
My eye must be single, My step must be sure,
My sword quick and powerful, My heart must be pure,
Through the fire and the fury, I am destined to win,
Though I fall seven times.... I will rise again,
This is the Way of the Warrior
I know there will be battle, till I reach my destination,
For I have been commissioned by the Captain of Salvation,
I am a paradox, for I am peace and I am war,
The Lamb in me will rest, but the Lion in me will roar
This is the Way of the Warrior
(Chorus)

RE: The way of the Warrior
Greetings Reformer,
Your song is very well written!!!
Just for the sake of invoking thought, the line "The Lamb in me will rest, but the Lion in me will roar" reminds me of a story told by George Bernard Shaw and his discussion one day with an old Indian (Native American). It should be noted that Shaw was a Fabian So******t. But regardless, the story is a favorite of mine and, I believe, of some moral value.
In speaking with Shaw, the Indian explains that "Inside of me, there are two dogs. One is good, but the other is very bad, and sometimes they fight." Shaw inquires, "Well, which one wins?" And after a short pause, the Indian responds, "Which ever one I feed the most."
Sincerely,
truth

Music in Em
weis, I did write music to the lyric.I did a fairly decent demo with some friends help in my home studio years ago.It was analog then. I had a Tascam 388, it was a one piece 8 track on 1/4 inch tape. I have not transferred it over to digital yet.Still on a cassette tape. The music was originally in Em and sometimes I would do it in Gm. Kind of a rock format with a nice power groove.Have a Roland 18 track digital now and seem to not find time to get into enough right brain creativity or to practice the technology with this equipment.Too much darn distraction writing freakin' letters.Beware the 3 D's,
distraction, distortion,& diversion if you would reach your destination...

I know about writing letters instead of playing. Guitar is my life. I write tons of lyrics about Yeshua & His Salvation & sovereignty issues. We should talk shop in the Guitarists or NFL fans thread In this forum. We need to write some tunes together, bro.
