Are there any fellow winemakers out there?

This is my first year trying it; it really intriges me. I noticed a bunch of wild muscedines growing on the property, so I gathered them. There were also some wild grapes of a light green color growing here. Altogether, I probably harvested 8-10 gallons.

So I have two 3-gallon batches going right now, I hope they turn out well. I have bought wine from the store in the past, but it is always a disapointment. It just leaves such a bad taste.

I would enjoy hearing others winemaking stories...

When I was a teenager my guardian (an older cousin) and a friend of his had started making their own wine.& It was very tasty.

I've been thinking about making my own.& I would like to hear from others that do.

I get all my supplies from Homebew Heaven. They even have some neat kits...

You can get concentrates if you do not have your own fruit base to use.

SurJuris:& I have a friend who is due here in less than two weeks who makes Jalapeno Wine from Jalapenos.& I will attempt to get her recipe for you when she comes.& I plan on putting some together for my hubby also, so I will let you know how it goes.

I&served a bit of my first homemade wine last night. It was a dry red, and it went great with grilled t-bone steak. Must say that it was worth the effort! Can't wait to taste it after it ages a few years!
