Inside Job
Some of you all may have seen this... someone emailed it to me and it hits home... this is what we have been discussing here:
Quote:
Inside Job
(Don Henley/Mike Campbell)
While you were sleeping
They came and took it all away
The lanes and the meadows
The places where you used to play
It was an inside job
By the well-connected
Your little protest
Summarily rejected
It was an inside job
Like it always is
Chalk it up to business as usual
While we are dreaming
This little island disappears
While you are looking the other way
They'll take your right to own your own ideas
And it's an inside job
Favors collected
Your trusted servants
Have left you unprotected
It was an inside job
Like it always is
Just chalk it up
To business as usual
You think that you're so smart
But you don't have a ****ing clue
What those men up in the towers
Are doing to me and you
And they'll keep doin' it and doin' it
And doin' it and doin' it
And doin' it and doin' it
And doin' it and doin' it
Until we all wake up
Wake up, wake up, wake up, wake up
I know what I've done wrongI am acquainted with the night
I know how hard it is
To always walk out in the light
And it's an inside job
To learn about forgiving
It's an inside job
To hang on to the joy of living
They know the road by which you came
They know your mother's maiden name
And what you had for breakfast
And what you've hidden in the mattress
Insect politics
Indifferent universe
Bang your head against the wall
But apathy is worse
It's an inside job
It's an inside job
It's an inside job
Yeh, yeah
It's an inside job
It's an inside job
It's an inside job
It's an inside job
It's an inside job
It's an inside job

This one is logded
'Cars' by Gary Newman. Oh please make it stop! I keep humming that tune over and over again. I've got to stop listening to the radio on my way to work (new job, longer drive.....so......more chances to hear bad tunes) I wonder what horrible train wrenck I'll hear tomorrow that will spread throughout my head like cancer?

The thing which makes that one so infectious is that the groove, and keyboard part mimics the vocal line as well

Another train wreck
'I Run' by Flock of Seagulls. What an annoying song. I heard this one this morning. I like listening to the 80's stuff, so I hear these train wrecks all of the time. BTW, you ever see this video?

Okay. Maybe it's not the worst song in the world, but that riff, over and over again. Kinda boring.
Now Video Killed the Radio Star? I like that song. In fact, my friend's band plays that song and he sings it through a megaphone to get that sound. It's way cool. Here's a little history fact: Video Killed the Radio Star was the first ever video played on MTV.

Oh boy. I definitely need to put on some music to erase this abomination out of my head.
I've got BOTH part of the verses AND chorus of "Macho Man" by the Village People playing like a broken record in my head and I haven't heard that tune for ages.
I remember back when I was in 3rd grade we used to sing that tune, but didn't know that the VP were gay.
Our teacher used to tell us to immediately stop singing that tune during recess, probably because of the homosexual connotations in the tune
