Need legal advice about home birth NYS
Hi,
Our plan has been to have a unassisted home birth. We trusted our midwife and told her about our plan to which she seemed to support. With only 7 weeks left we went in today for a checkup only to have the midwife and the "director" of the clinic back us into a office to have what seemed to be a "intervention" of sorts. They told us they had to talk to us about our plan and had to call the "would be" delivering doctor(even though we never intended on going to the hospital). They called the doctor over the speaker phone and had her tell us that it is NOT their policy to deliver ******lly after a woman had a previous c-section and that we should start looking for another medical facility or hospital that would support our decision. She basically told us that they would not help us if in fact there was a emergency and we had to go to the hospital. So my question is does anyone know or could anyone point us in the right direction to the specific laws in NYS pertaining to home birth.
Can it be legal for the doctor to tell us that she would not help us?
Does anyone know if it is illegal to have a pre meditated home birth?
Thank you all for your continued help!!

Have you tried asking some local churches who may have some connections? Also, do you plan on getting your kid a birth certificate? I have heard bad things about getting a BC so be careful dude, if you want a record of the birth, maybe a religious certificate of some sort might help, take care...

still wouldn't matter if the parents haven't properly executed sttus crrection docs. Since the parents are presumed to be fed property, so is their offspring as far as the PTB is concerned
this concept is applicable to land patents as well

But how could they presume such a such a thing if there is no documentation whatsoever which links the kid to the feds? Or are you saying that the parents may still be under the feds because they have not corrected their status? Could you give a few tips on how they might be able to correct their status? Thanks,
IA

Find another midwife. You can do this.
We have done it, so you can too.
It is NOT illegal to have a home birth.

A friend of mine moved from NY for this reason...
I am pretty sure she said that it was illegal for home births in NY.
She is a midwife.
I am trying to contact her now to make sure, I will post again as soon as I know the facts about it.
