Question I need help with a divorce please reply

I am going through a seperation with my husband and I needed some legal help or advice. I was wondering if there is a way to get a divorce on my own, just doing a contract with my husband. I have a child that is a soverign and I don't want to get involved in the system. I was told that I would have to get a SSN for him if I go through a lawyer. Is this true? Does anyone out there know how I can do this. Thanks for the help.

In reference to your child, did you mean BOTH NO Birth Cert AND SSN?

The contract idea sounds cool, but if you have a marriage license, you need to void your connection WITH THE STATE before the divorce.

PM Henry Bowman on this issue.

With a lawyer you will have to fill out legal forms. Most legal forms have boxes for SSNs.

Yes, you can do a contract with your husband. You will probably want to know something about writing contracts though, before you do. Nolo Press (self help legal books) might have info on how to write a valid contract. Also, do a search in google for how to write a contract, divorce.

Red face Later than never

Thankyou for answering my topic...Yes my son does have a Birth certificate..no he does not have a SSN. My older son doeshave both though.I have tried to find different places where I can get info on writing my own contract...not a whole lot of luck. Every site I visit, they said that I had to contact a Lawyer. I really can't afford to do that at all. I really need help writing the contract. If anyone knows of any sites please let me know. I am feeling very overwhelmed.

http://onecle.com/

Tons of examples to give you an idea

First, write a freeform, limitlss contract and brainstorm it

NExt, construct a definitions list of the key terms in your contract

THEN incorporate the technical, legal aspects
