in the first letter to the Corinthians, Paul wrote that if the unbelieving wife or husband of a believer wants to leave, then we arent to oppose their decision; why?

BECAUSE we who believe are not to dominate our partner.

as for a writ of divorcement, a public notice in the paper satifies the document and announcement.

the fundamental question in all that we do is "where is the love in it?"

fulltitle,

Thanks for the update about the states that do recognize common law marriage.

I verified your information and found that it seems to be true-contrary to what an attorney told me.

In regards to how to divorce a common law wife, what I found is that you divorce one the same way you would any wife.

If you were married in any way in one state and move to another, the state that you moved to that does not recognize common law marriage does recognize the union under the same terms as the state that the union was made in.

Eric

if a state's constitution states that the common law belongs to the people, can a state abrogate common law?
