It's all about money and control
I took a trip to Arizona this summer in my big diesel powered plow truck known as "the spotted cow". (Photo attached) I was able to bring enough bio-diesel to make the 5500 mile trip without having to buy fuel on the way. Additionally I packed a cooler with about 90% of the food I consumed on the trip.
If you trade with your neighbors and grow your own food and produce your own fuels.. then the corporate government doesn't get any of your labor.
If you buy your food at a store and purchase your fuel at a filling station.. they get their cut. Hit 'em where it hurts folks.. the wallet. Form co-op farms and neighborhood barter groups.
For instance, I make bio-diesel. I obtain goods and services from locals by trading fuel rather than using FRN's. I have dozens of people trading me feedstock for the bio-diesel production for finished bio-diesel.
I also grow dozens of food crops and sell directly to the public under the "right to farm act" of New York. No sales tax. Everyone within a 20 mile radius of my house shops here first. Some of our goods that are sold are produced by other local farmers (like whole milk and eggs) and we have traded everything from vegetables to FRN's for their products to re-sell.
Additionally, I plow snow and sell firewood in the winter with the big truck for additional income.
