Lightbulb Commit Stop Smoking Lozenges

Has anyone tried these to stop smoking? I've been a smoker for almost 15 years and I've tried to quit numerous times, however, as the number of years are added to my addiction, the harder it becomes to quit.

I have used the Nicorette gum in the past and it did work, but now, I wear orthodontics (braces) and therefore, I can not chew a gum of any kind....or leave it between my check and gum as it would get tangled in the brackets and rubber bands.

Of course my Family Doctor says the Commit Lozenge is effective, and to give it try, although, that's the same as a "physician" stating that there special formula can actually re-grow hair (LOL!).

I've been a smoker for far too long (IMO, one day is too long for anyone). I want to better my health for myself, my spouse and for my children.

I don't like the 'weaning' off nicotine by using nicotine process. In my years of practice, I have not found it to be the most effective method of quitting. It takes too long, doesn't really allow the addiction to be eliminated and gives one too many opportunities to become emotionally entrapped in the whole thing again.

If you are really mentally and emotionally committed to quitting, my recommendation is that you look for somone in your area that uses auriculotherapy. This is basically a mild electrical stimulation of particular accupuncture points in the ears that eliminates the nicotine addiction immediately.

The only possible battle you have following this type treatment is with your brain (emotions). If you are emotionally/mentally weak, no treatment in the world will work.

I have been using this treatment for the past 5 years in my office and have a success rate of near 90%. The treatment always works! It is the person who fails.

I believe that my success rate is this high because in my screening of the prospective patient I try to ascertain where their head is at. If I believe that they are not emotionally ready to quit, I will not accept them as a patient for this procedure.

So, the answer is, be totally ready to quit in your head (using whatever motivation you must) and then find a treatment that will kill the physical addiction immediately.

Hope this helps.

Doc

Talking Good advice

Thanks Doc,

I've heard of that procedure. My Aunt, who recently had to have a lung removed because of cancer (she was only 40 years old) did that. Although, her mentality to quit was already there because she came down with cancer. Now here it is, two years later and I haven't seen her with a cig.

To explain a little more about me....I have the will power to resist it. On Jan. 1, 1999, my New Year's resolution was to quit and I did it cold turkey. No help. I thought I had it beat after a year-and-a-half, but I fell back into its grip one night. The rest is history.

It is harder to quit now that I have become more dependent of them.

I will take your advice and look into it further.

Thanks again Doc,
BassBoy
