Juicer

OK, about 7 or 8 years ago, I bought a "Juiceman" juicer. It worked pretty well, not as well as it did on TV tjough (but they never do). The thing finally juiced it's last carrot a month ago. I need a new juice machine. The JackLalane one looks good. Anybody hade experience with that one or any specific suggestions?

It's my understanding that the LaLanne although good, is not as good as another one out there (I believe it's about the same cost) which grinds instead of cuts (as does the LaLanne). This is supposedly better for getting juice out of certain vegetables (particularly the green leafy ones). It is my understanding that the LaLanne does not do a very good job of this. I have also been told that this particular "grinding" machine runs at a significantly lower rpm and that the LaLanne (which is very fast, therefore much higher rpm) has a tendency to heat up which will remove some of the nutrition of the vegetables. If you are intending to juice mostly fruits (and non-leafy vegetables) then based on what I've heard the LaLanne is very good. Hopefully you'll get some more feedback.

Juiceman II

there were several iterations of Juiceman......I have a Juiceman II.

I have compared various models (some license by and manufactured under a different company) of Juiceman. The 'giveaway' is in the same test for quality audio speakers - 'If they are heavy, they HAVE to be good'.....or something like that. B-)

Note the weight of yours, then go out 'window shopping'.

I do all my shopping in thrift stores and thought my JM II a great bargain at $4.

Juicer and MORE

Dr. Mercola recommends the Omega 8003 & 8005 Juicers. More @ http://www.mercola.com/article/juicer.htm,
and he as a juicer comparison chart at @ http://www.mercola.com/article/juicer_comp.htm
I think that the Omega 8005 is the one I'm going to get next. I have the Omega 1000 which is very well built, but it can't juice wheatgrass, whereas the 8003 & 8005 can, and they do a lot more than just juice. And that’s what I want.
Hope this helps.

Peace,
Mark
