<font color=darkblue face="verdana">patriotmaster,
You can take a look at a Declaration of Land Patent document at this link. Also, take a look at the Land Patent - How To article as well as the http://www.landrights.com/ website.

<font color=darkblue face=verdana>Updating one's land patent isn't the hard part. I know several people who have gone through the process of declaration. However, I don't personally know anyone who has had to defend it.

help on patent
Patriotmaster;
how committed are YOU to seeingthis through? I think the point of this entire site is to help people FIND the tools THEY need to do that which THEY believe is the RIGHT thing for them at this point in time.
If you're looking for a "cookie cutter approach", I don't think you'll find it here. Everything is personal, so all information must be also. We can point in the right direction, give assistance and encouragement, but ultimately it is EACH INDIVIDUAL's decision to proceed or scrap.
I wish you success if you decide this is the avenue you wish to pursue. BT has been doing some great research recently and there is muc more in various threads through the site. Search and read, reasearch and explore.

patriotmaster,
you may get some resistance to inquiry with your approach.
Remember, no one here has to prove anything to you...it is you that has to prove something to yourself.
Another's success will not guarantee yours. the only way you can guarantee success is through education, persistence, motivation and the sheer will to be left alone.
there are court cases that have been done on this issue, Summa Corp v. Railroad (if I am correct) is one of those cases. read it in the downloads section of this site.

The Summa corp. case was against Los Angeles ... basically, the court stated that all you need to do is "assert your right" in the patent.
If you know the patent number and have a "chain of evidence" leading to your possession of the land ... then you got it.
But, you do not give any details that may allow for members to suggest other avenues that may be available to you. Asserting rights in the patent is a good thing ... but protecting those rights can be costly ... it all depends on the judge ... and not too many of them are our "friends". You may have to take it several levels up the "judicial ladder".
