Texas is the easiest state in which to apply for and receive title in allodium or to patent your land. It has to do with Texas never ceding lands to the US government I believe.

You may wish to view portions of a class given by Michael Badnarik, a 2004 Libertarian Presidential Candidate.

There are also quite a few resources online here, maybe start with some of Blackstone's stuff.

Thanks.
If I wanted to learn more about property taxes I think reading up on the legal encyclopedias would be a good start. I remember something from the 30's where the tax was against the mortgage not the land as we might often think. Property being a legal claim, the tax was a method to regulate the taking of mortgages by imposing burdens and making mortgages more onerous. After completion of the mortgage title reverts to the possessor and there was a remedy in equity whereby the title could be "quieted". I never did mark out those references for future use. Of course, we are responsible to know the law, and brain surgery, and nuclear fisssion reactions to produce electricity so its not my fault if I missed all these courses in 2nd grade. I'm just playing catch up. In short me thinks equity has a process to quiet title. Back track the statutes to the original.
