Wink What if....

...the Mayor of Washington DC decides that the White House and other government office buildings do not generate as much income as a big shopping mall would?

Never happen, I know, but it would make my day to see this jump up and bite some of these So******ts in the butt!

Let's claim the governor’s mansion and rent it out.

Cool Maybe, once the outsourcing is finished

It will not happen now because the President is still Commander-in-Chief of the military. Anyone not living a cave for the past few years knows that he is not afraid to use that military power in questionable ways.

Once we have abandoned all US military bases and outsourced our military might to India, Pakistan or wherever, then would be the time to raze the White House to make way for a strip mall or a dry cleaners. Oh, wait, we are being taken to the cleaners now, so I don't know that that would be an improvement, LOL!

I have numerous comedic scenarios playing in my head about how this could come back to haunt these "Judges" (and I use the term loosely).

Maybe one of their own homes will someday stand in the way of the next tax-generating enterprise. Would they then rush out and reverse their own ruling?

Have ANY of those five judges even heard of the Constitution, let alone read it? These "judges" must be taking good drugs to be able to justify this crap to themselves. They will NEVER be able to justify it to me.

CHAMBLISS EXPRESSES DISAPPOINTMENT OVER SUPREME COURT RULING ON EMINENT DOMAIN
June 23,2005
WASHINGTON—U.S. Senator Saxby Chambliss, R-Ga., today issued the following statement relative to yesterday’s Supreme Court ruling that local governments may take people's homes and businesses and turn them over to private developers.

“I am deeply disturbed by the Supreme Court’s decision in Kelo v. City of New London,” said Senator Saxby Chambliss. In Kelo, the Court decided yesterday by a 5-4 margin that a local government can seize a person’s home and turn it over to another private party for redevelopment.

The Fifth Amendment to the United States Constitution provides for taking of private property by the government, but only with “just compensation” and only for “public use.” In a dissenting opinion, Justice O’Connor warned that “all private property is now vulnerable to being taken and transferred to another private owner” so long as the new owner uses the property within the guidelines outlined by the government.

“This shouldn’t happen in America,” continued Senator Chambliss. “The Kelo case is a troublesome expansion of the power of local governments to confiscate private property. This case appears to allow seizure of homes owned by lower- and middle-income people to benefit the wealthy and powerful. Congress needs to take a look at what we need to do to restore the protections of the Fifth Amendment to property owners in our county.”
