First,

Where is that link about the step by step process. I have looked in here, but can't find it?

Second, What does my ancestry have to do with a Land Patent?

Thanks!

HB

Your ancestry doens't have anything to do with the Land Patent unless you are a direct heir of the original Patentee.

What link are you referring to? Is this step by step spelled out in the forums? I'm not sure what you are talking about.

There are 2 things required to assert rights in the Land Patent. 1) Possession; and 2) Chain of "ownership"/title/possession. See the Summa Corp. case for more details -- or check the "Land Patent" doc in the download section for the case cites and holdings.

HB,

Try the Aware Group site, I think they have a free guide that should give the main steps involved.

If so, there are no absolutes, and the only logical conclusion is that reality, truth, and right and wrong are determined arbitrarily on a daily basis by those with the most power, guns, and money, and the rest of us can choose to run, fight, or be their slaves.

Well I have a few questions I hope you don't mind. 1. Is the title insurance the same as a warranty deed? Do I need to get a Quit Claim Deed from the previous owner? May be silly question but I am just not sure how to get the information I need I have a copy of the land dated back to 1944 but do not really know what I am looking for specificly. Sorry

I have issues here, Jeresse explains all of this very well in several forums. Ice is giving you all the references to websites. There is a document in the document section. I have had success with obtaining several land patents by reading all of the forums on the subject on Sui Juris. You have to own the land free and clear, do an abstract, obtain a copy of the original land patent, then you can apply for yours.
