Land Patent... Why 60 Days?

in one part of the pand patent filings it says if not challenged within 60 days, it becomes valid. Why not 30 days?

I do not know where the following authority was found, but here goes:



The validity of the patent could not be attacked except under fraud or clerical error and either of these circumstances has to be proven in a court of law, and the challenge must be brought within six months of the granting of the patent. In fact, in a court of law, the patent is the conclusive proof of legal title. Id. 452

I believe (I'm not sure) that the purpose of 60 days is to allow grace and have someone rebut your affidavit.



This is the only thing I can think of.

Remember, we are only asserting our rights as an "assign" in a patent that is already in place. We are not "getting a patent".
