A man and woman live together in town, in a house owned by her. She dies. Apperently the house was left to the daughter. Man stays in house for 7-8 years, doesn't pay the taxes. Nobody paid taxes.
Shyster gets ahold of case, give eviction notice to man for "trespassing", and tell's him to make a bid on the land if he likes. Current bid is $7500.00.
This is where we are. I bring up a lien for labor, upkeep, ect.. Told him to claim $1000.00/year, for a total of $7000.00. So give it to me people, what would happen if he did this? The shyster is representing the deceased woman's property. I have never dealt with putting a lien on, and do not wish to cause him problems(don't think it gets any worse than being tossed out on your ear!) Please give me idea's. Ohh, he has less than 30 days to get out of there. Not sure when the sale goes threw, or when the bidding ends. Just want to throw a wrench in the cogs here.

NDAUSA, a lien might make sense, but you'd have to do it quickly. Put a lien on the land/house an amount in "______ dollars in the lawful money of the united states of America in lawful silver coin".

I drew up the lien, and he filed it for $7000.00. Waiting to see what happens. I told him to serve the shyster, which he was doing today. Should be interesting. Will keep everyone up to date on this as we go along. (Also told the guy to think about moving out of state, as they might get a little hostile over this.)
When he filed it, I asked if they questioned it. He said, "They were really confused!". Anyway, as I said, its done and see what happens here.

Well, the common law bull sh@t. just don't work!! LOL(I knew it, but had to try it!) Common law created the system, the common law is not the system, in ANY STATE TODAY!!
That was rather stupid on our part, now are in some trouble. I didn't think that it would, but now I have proof that this common law crap is nothing more than that_-CRAP!!
Shyster filed two actions imed!, one in ten day's, the other before the cheif district court judge. After reviewing several laws, we are in a little trouble. I beleive I've corrected what I can before court date, may have felony charges brought against us.
NO COMMON LAW BULL**** FOR COURT!! Anyone telling you it works is lying out thier ass. No respectable judge is going to listen to it, NOT ONE!
The next person who say's "these laws don't apply to me", "I'm not in your jurisdiction", well your full of ****!! they do, you are, and they will bring the hammer down.
My mistake, but anyone wanting to follow this bs of being a "patriot", your nuts! As was pointed out to me, by the US PATRIOT ACT, what I did was not only a punishable crime, but rediculouse! I AGREE! By state law, we will be paying out the ass for some time to come.

Oh, here we go, "those laws don't apply to me". Which state are you in, as they have got to be the most incompetent in the country. They hit us with so much law, it wasn't funny, and still isn't. The fact that we could be looking up to 20 years for filing such bs, among voilating several state and fed. laws, proves to me that people who say this "common law", which is English law, works, your full of it.
These are called "non-consensual common-law liens", and they are not legal in any way. They are BS, plain and simple, not one law backs them up! As a guy in Texas that knows his stuff put it: "YOu just as well as walked in and shot a family, then took over the house". No doubt. I would love for someone to send me a common law anything right now, god would I!

You get to start somewhere; maybe others don’t see it the way you perceive it.
Something you call poison, might be somebody else remedy, and get away with it.
Have you ever thought about that for sec?

Nothing personal... I regret your friends situation... I'm simply speaking up to defend the FACT that common law is still a viable option...
But, what were you thinking?
You had no business risking someone elses home for the sake of your experiments...
Practice on yourself, perfect your process, then help others.
Common law works just fine.

First and formost, I didn't risk anything for the guy. I told him I could draw up this common-law crap, but it wouldn't work. He was so gung-ho, I did it. Now, i wouldn't be in trouble had I not typed the damn stuff up to begin with.
As far as common law works, nope. To much case law stating it doesn't, just like I knew it wouldn't. I just didn't expect someone to come out with all the guns over it. Again, I would love to meet these judges this stuff is getting by, because the lower judge he has to see, nailed it on the head, and she's an ediot. I told him to run, and run fast, because when he goes to see the cheif district court judge, he's going to be doing some time.
I now see why they call this place "sooey" all over the net!
