I find Biodiesel to be the most sound approach in that one can make the stuff pretty easily and there are 1800 RPM generators wehich can power a house

A most logical assessment Weis.
I guess we could get an old ford truck but we're lookin for a smaller diesel at the moment. one out of an old generator or something.
The other stuff for the Hydrogen is laying around in spare parts and one can purchase a small tank of H2 for testing purposes. I'm just curious to actually see it work.
The key is to Think, design, experiment, record, analyze, and repeat until a viable solution is found. It is not in the interest of entrenched organizations to innovate as they have a "captive customer base" unless there is some major competetion. Since there is little in the Oil industry I believe solutions will be found by the independent scientists and backyard shade tree experimenters. Whether they make the results widely available or not is another issue.
