Nuclear Survival / Full Umbrella (and Bentonite Clay)

Without Prejudice
Apparently the buzz is that certain earthly states/nations are at high levels of nuclear readiness. Primarily my main is to point out the significance of bentonite clay in protecting the body from radiation. However this thread could be for discussion general issues pertaining to surviving nuclear radiation, fallout and the like and helping others who are injured.

As some may know, there are at least two major types of radiactive materials/emissions: beta particles (highly energized electrons or positrons), alpha particles (ionized helium atoms which can be highly energetic like a runaway semi-truck to nearby atomic structures) . There is also super high energy he radiation itself such as gamma radiation which tends to be ionizing and/or distructive to chemical bonds or the like.

Ionization means that a charge (+) is induced which means the ion is gonna be a hunting for a bond even maybe one unwanted by the body if its in the body. This is one way that high doses doses of the wrong kind of radiation may disturb the chemistry of the body meaning that otherwise happy and placid atomic bonds are disturbed when, say, gamma rays (intense EMR) rip electrons out of place and cause a change to the order (i.e. burns in the case of high levels of heat/IR). Similary if radioctive materials get into the lungs they can seriously disturb the chemical order.

So back to bentonite. Bentonite clay itself is known for its ability to adsborp or for its sorption of many radioactive by products. That is to say, it can entangle or draw out the positively ionized materials into its fray. Some bentonite clays can be eaten. Some may only be suitable for application on the skin--hydrated (moistened).

In a nuclear disaster setting, a DEMRON protective Demron suit (even maybe a yellow contractors rainsuit in a pinch!?) might prove handy and what one could do is place a layer of hydrated (wet) bentonite clay on the skin to serve as an added buffer to the radiation. A protective suit ought to help as well especially if it helps keep the clay hydrated. To my knowledge the clay can actively draw out toxins from the body through the skin. The clay should be washed off with a hose and in such a manner that your bare skin doesnt come in contact with it again once its washed off...ideally you might be hosed down outside. Please note that bentonite isnt necessarily the best thing to put down your drain because its potential to swell and clog up things.

The point being that, even if there is fallout, the ability of bentonite to draw/adsorb the ions and radiactive materials out of the body that would be important. And to my knowledge bentonite clay can do this.l

Adsorption to my knowledge is where a material is surrounded and its bonds are taken up to the point that it becomes deactivated and no longer ionic because its bonds are used up by the adsorbing material. Consider that activated charcoal is adosorptive.

Radioactive Iodine Blockers

Another issue is stopping radoactive iodine from reaching the thyroid. Products that come to mind that are quite inexpensive (around $9 a box):

1. Iostat.
2. Thyroshield (flavoured for kids).
3. Potassium iodide is also added to Flintstone vitamins. (See the faq on the thyroshield page).

The purpose of these: to load your thyroid up with non-radiactive idonine so that radiocative iodine in the air or other sources doesnt find its way to your thyroid and instead asses out of the body.

See faq concerning potassium iodide (scroll far down below the add portion).

Do you live near a nuclear power plant?

WARNING: DO NOT TAKE IODINE TABLETS OR TINCTURE OF IODINE IN PLACE OF POTASSIUM IODIDE.

Thank God I live next to a Nuclear Power Plant, I would hate to survive the devastation.

Get Bombed.

Bentonite is also used to clear particles from wine. Burp.

purchase?

So I want bentonite clay. Thanks for convincing me. I carry a small amount of protective material and NORAD iodine pills because I am so close to NORAD (punny thing). I would like to wipe some bentonite clay on under my rainsuit, to keep it moist, before I join the hoards in exodus from the hot area.

Do I just go to a pottery clay dealer and look for the highest bentonite mix?

Regards,

David Merrill.

Do you know any oil well drillers??? B-)

Bentonite is called "Mud" in the oil drilling business, perhaps is the basic constituant in drilling "mud". Yellow Pages for OIL FIELD MUD SERVICE.

Can be obtained from drilling supply companies in a pinch. Or you can obtain more specialized bentonites such as calcium montmorillonite. Some bentonites are good for taking internally for detox. There are apparently magnetic clays as well which have more drawing power. To my knowledge, bentonite goes negative when wet and has a pull on ions.

Regarding clays perhaps see:

http://www.tuberose.com/Detoxification.html (scroll down to the section about clays);

http://www.eytonsearth.org/

Also, you might contact American Colloid via email or telephone to ask them the price on clays if you want bulk (50lbs...200 lbs..a ton...).

Clay baths or epsom salt + baking soda baths can also help with radiation detox.

Dont overlook Pascalite for internal use (not cheap and not necessarily readily available in bulk).

The point here, if a nuke goes off, radioactive materials can apparently be removed from the body with clays just like other toxins and heedless suffering need not be experienced--not to mention the buffering properties of the bentonite.

On a detox note, the difference between certain clays and activated charcoal is that while both activated charcoal and clay can detox, clay has more pulling power and the right kind of clays can provide nutrients in the process of pulling out toxins (apparently even heavy metals/lead).

So even if one doesnt coat one's skin with the clay, it'd probably be a good idea to take a clay bath or take it orally in small quantities. Believe it or not, I sometimes sprinkle clay on salads (if available handy)--pascalite preferred. Still, in the event of a 'nuclear event' I'd prefer full or almost total body coverage over just a bath. Alternatively in a pinch one could make a 5" x 5" or larger poultice or w/e its called : filtered water + clay over a cotton gauze then covered with plastic (saran wrap) and taped to the skin (clay on skin) with surgical medical tape ...it could be put under the shirt and still to my knowledge would have potency in drawing out toxins, radiocative substances.

Also, to my knowledge epsom salt + baking soda + capful of hydrogen peroxide in a bath can help with detox/radiation exposure.

Clay pudding anyone?

You might find this interesting? http://www.unitedstatesaction.com/nuclear_safety.htm (he/she is pretty blunt and straightforward).
