Politics and Struggle for Power

It is very informative to watch the senators and congressmen speak. So much can be gleaned from watching--it is clear that there is a struggle happening. Senator Robert Byrd, West Virginia, has proposed an amendment that would restrict the spending power of a Central Intelligend Director, an unelected bureaucrat, as he calls him. He talks about the abuses of power and violations of civil liberties in our intelligence community as reasons to not give the bureaucrat carte blanche. He also keeps talking about the Constution and how Congress is supposed to have much of the powers that are being delegated to others, including the president.

Which way these types of issues go gives us an idea of how fast and where we are headed as a nation.

It is on C-SPAN. Check it out.

You are, of course, assuming the Government is legitimate in the first place and actually has any real power other than fear and intimidation tactics, which it is not....and does not. Which I believe is one of the main reasons for this site. Realizing Goverment has no right, and no real power to do what they claim they have the right and power to do.

the "President" is a Bankruptcy trustee for a foreign bank. So which trustee are the sheeple going to vote for in the Big "Donkey Show '04". Which oddly is much like the Donkey shows in Tijuana.

I am not assuming the government is legitimate. Our government IS a de facto government. Still, resolutions, amendments, laws, etc. are passed that direct the government and dictate how it handles its business, and these decisions, consequently affect all of us.

These new laws, resolutions, etc., which strip the freedom from the people, has effects on all of us irrespective of whether one believes they do (if it affects one it affects all).

Knowing what we know about government, we are empowered to see somewhat of a larger picture by listening to our elected officials push the consolidation power.

My whole point was that we can learn how fast our country is sliding into the cluthces of tyranny by following new bills and the lawmaking process.

After all, how has our govermnent been gaining more and more power? By creating new laws, regulations, acts, statutes, etc. A common charateristic of these new regulations are the concentration of power in fewer and fewer people. How much easier is it to control one or two men than the entire Congress and Senate? The rate at which Congressional and House authorities are eroded is one of many direct indicators as to the rate in which the country slides into the muck.

Just read this somewhere...

September 29, 2004

At New York's Kennedy airport today, an individual later discovered to be a public school teacher was arrested trying to board a flight while in possession of a ruler, a protractor, a set square, a slide rule, and a calculator.

At a morning press conference, Attorney General John Ashcroft said he believes the man is a member of the notorious al-gebra movement. He is being charged by the FBI with carrying weapons of math instruction.

"Al-gebra is a fearsome cult," Ashcroft said.

"They desire average solutions by means and extremes, and sometimes go off on tangents in a search of absolute value. They use secret code names like 'x' and 'y' and refer to themselves as 'unknowns', but we have determined they belong to a common denominator of the axis of medieval with coordinates in every country. As the Greek philosopher Isosceles used to say, 'There are 3 sides to every triangle'."

Overheard comment: "If God had wanted us to have better weapons of math instruction, he would have given us more fingers and toes."
