What would you do if you received this email?

What would you do if you received the following?

It truly offended me, that a government employee would send out an email supporting her church.

The fact is, this government employee just solicited the recipients of this email to buy a product from her that supports her church, and that is government respecting the establishment of a religion!

Subject: Don't you LOVE a Church Cookbook???

The “take your child out of the public school now” ministry at GreensburgUnitedMethodistChurch has a fresh new cookbook, HOT off the presses!! Chock full of over 450 recipes from church members and friends, we are selling these cookbooks NOW, just in time for Christmas! The recipes are TRIED AND TRUE, and are definitely some family favorites. Buy one for $12 or 5 or more for $10 each. A one of a kind gift for family, friends, teachers, neighbors, hostesses, employees, ETC.

Let me know how many you'd like and I'll make arrangements to get them to you! Checks are payable to “take your child out of the public school now” ministry and proceeds are benefiting the missions outreach of Greensburg UMC.

Let me know if you have any questions! thanks!!

Jane

LOL
I'd really appreciate it if no one did that... ever.

But to add to the topic at hand: I would kindly suggest that this person not send out any more e-mails of the like and explain to this person why we separate church matters from state matters. Just to make sure it sticks, I'd forward the e-mail to her superior and educate that person as well.

Thanks to both of you. Good responses.

The stakes on this one are higher than a random act of ignorance.

I will have to say, in all seriousness; that if that was a real email i; then it is almost unbelievable how someone like Jane Doe could be so bereft of any cognitive ability

Extramural, i actually thought the thread was a joke at first, considering how out of hand that was

If you were being tortured, a shot of heroin in your scrotum would likely be most welcome, and not likely forthcoming.
