counter-contract
Hmm... you know, we are seeing offers of contract everyday by BB. Even though they'll claim that it isn't a contract, they can't answer why their forms need a dated signature to become operative.
We've talked about using UCC1-207, 1-308, Without Prejudice, All Rights Reserved as part of our signature, but that might not have all the impact that we hope for.
How about a small, one page form, very generic, that states that the person asking for our signature, sign their name, stating that any information on any form they want us to sign will not be used against us, nor bind us to any unwritten terms or adhesion contracts that aren't completely stated in the form they want us to sign?
Then, we just carry multiple copies with us in our pocket, and everytime we are bothered by BB or big banker or someone else that demands a signature, we whip this out and tell them that we'll sign their document as soon as they sign mine, stating that their document won't be used against me later, and they are taking personal responsibility for it by their signature. Kind of like the whole conditional acceptance thing we discussed a while ago.
I'm thinking more alone the lines of the psychological impact here.
Something like this could be sent back, through the mail, to the tax agencies, when they start bothering us, saying that they need to complete our form first, before we can comply with their form.
If they aren't willing to sign ours, why should we sign theirs?
Any thoughts?
