Employment Experiments
Funny that I put myself out there in the job market through employment agencies in 2002 & just got a call today. Go Figr
Anyway, I am happily self - employed by the abundant grace of Yeshua, although not lucratively.
So, Citigroup called me for an interview. Although this is mos def in the top 3 of the enemy, I was thinking about going for a part time gig, but experimenting with not divulging the SS#, Not filling out a W-4, & using alternative forms of Documentation for kicks. If they all out refuse, I won't take the job.
What are some other fun things I can do.What Say Ye?

I would imagine that giving them a copy of your UCC1 would do the trick, and just for kicks and grins, you could file an amendment that listed all wages, income, pay, earnings, monies due, etc, from the debtors services/employment with Citigroup.
I would do this just after I got the written offer, and I would try your best to not sign a w4, but if you have to, sign it as under duress, and all rights reserved, and write in NO WITHHOLDINGS PURSUSANT TO UCC1 FINANCING STATEMENT or some such verbage.
This is all presumptive on my part, so do your own homework, but I know that UCC1 can show a difference to anyone between the strawman and the real man.
HB
P.S. Not preaching redemption, just a way to let them know your "earnings" are secured to another party, thus "keep your hand off!"

Also, refuse to sign the Immigration Dept.'s I-9 form since you are neither
(I azoom) an immigrant-farmer nor is the prospective employet a farm-owner.
I think that's the use of the I-9

As you will notice,
This was a looooong time ago (on my clock) and I simply believe in living in honesty.
I have filed a DBA, showing that I am not the LEGAL NAME.
Should they want to do business with a LEGAL NAME, that's kewl, just so they agree that I am not HIM.

I would take a copy of (off the top of my head) 26 USC 3401 with you, the part that says the employer is required to ask for the number. Tell then to send a letter to the IRS at fiing time stating they asked and it was refused. I did it (also provided the letter) and the employer never heard back from them.
The next point in that fight is that since they have nowhere to send it (as in who to record it to) don't allow them to withhold SS taxes either. After all, they are a direct tax, unapportioned.
An alternative withholding certificate should work also, but don't designate yourself as an "Employee." No title for you, just sign it.

You must use 3401 in conjunction w/6109 (CFR, perhaps if not USC)

Brother did the same!
Mutt,
My brother did the same as you mentioned last year. The problem he had wasn't with the IRS it was with his employer. Although my brother had been employed with the company for over five years the company refused to allow him to use it. According to my brother, he was told to his face you don't know what you're doing. We're here to protect you so, no you can't use the affidavit. Eventually he had to take action against the company.
