Secure Chat and E-mail - A must!

As you guys know, anything posted in these forums is open to the public, anything sent via standard e-mail can easily be read by other parties, and the private message feature is only as secure as this website itself.

That being said, a secure form of communication is needed for messages of a sensitive nature. I for one do not want the personal details I send in emails to be open to the public.

With that in mind, I would like all the members interested in communicating with me or other members to do the following for the sake of security:

Go to www.hushmail.com and sign up for a free account:

https://www.hushmail.com/login-signup

Once you have set up your account, you can send encrypted messages
back and forth - as long the party you are sending the message to also has a hustmail account.

Also, once you have an account, you can download their free chat program to be able to chat securely here:

http://hushmail.com/services-messenger

Please post here if you have any questions regarding hushmail, or if you know of some reason this may not be a good way to communcate securely or know of a better method.

Regards,
Sui Juris

Just a thought

Hello,

I have just become a member today, as I am looking for some information to aid my court case regarding foreclosure. Aside from that issue, past knowlege has taught me very valuable lessons.
This site is not secure, not many are. Don't worry about the site being protected...rather protect yourself. I am on this site via proxy server. I chose the free account at mailvault rather than Hushmail because Hushmail locks you out after 30 days of inactivity. They do want your personal information and make no remark about who they are going to share it with. Mailvault and their alternate specifically claim to keep you as anonymous as they possibly can.

Have a great day and remember- You are your best protection

Pretty Good Privacy

You can get pretty good privacy with the pgp public key system. Though, this takes some preparation. And I was trying to figure out to simplify the process of using it.

ftp://ftp.cert.dfn.de/pub/tools/cryp...gpi/7.0/7.0.3/
ftp://ftp.demon.co.uk/pub/pgp/pgp26uix.zip

I almost think that it is our duty to encrypt trivial as well as sensitive email.

Also, I have "heard" that Skype allows private communications in part because there is no centralized communications server. One key method of obtaining freedom is to de-centralize power and control. This also is a benefit of the pgp encryption software -- that it is de-centralized.

Exclamation ScatterChat

http://www.scatterchat.com/

ScatterChat is a HACKTIVIST WEAPON designed to allow non-technical human rights activists and political dissidents to communicate securely and anonymously while operating in hostile territory. It is also useful in corporate settings, or in other situations where privacy is desired.

edit: I don't know whats up with the illuminati symbolism on the programs page. However, this program does seem to be the most secure from the choices of chat programs available. It is also open source and open for inspection. Although, I have also become accustomed to thinking that anything transmitted on internet is in no way secure. This program just makes it extremely hard to intercept and decode communications. (You would probably have to be on someone's top 30.)
