Question 1/2 full 1/2 empty test.

When I was interviewed for a job, my interviewer gave me a test.

Here is a misshapen transparent bottle, some liquid in it, and sealed.

Proove to me that the bottle is half-liquid half-empty without breaking the seal.

I passed the test and I was accepted for the job.

What was my answer?

You could prove it useing displacement, if you had measuring containers.

Displacement can be measured without breaking the seal, if you have an identical bottle.

Simply put the full bottle in a measured container, measure the displacement, then fill it to the same level as the first bottle, measure the displacement, and equate the difference.

Wink Sorry, the bottle is misshapen and unique.

When I was given the interview test for the job, I was handed the bottle and had nothing else available I had to come up with the answer in just a few minutes at the most.

Try again?

Wink Upside down is the answer!!

Just mark the filled-to line and turn it upside down. If the fluid comes to the same line, the bottle is half full.

Simple.

What bottle?

Oh, wait. That's to prove the bottle doesn't exist....
