Weis,
Huntsville Alabama is listed as number 6, and I live about 40 minutes from Huntsville. I love Huntsville. It was just recently listed as the second most liveable city in America. If I had to live in a big city, it would be Huntsville. It is clean and laid out well. It is about 3 hours from Atlanta, 2 hours from Nashville, about 2 hours from Chattanooga. it is surrounded by the mountains of north Alabama. The weather is very temperate- highs in summer -upper 80's, occ. low 90's and in the winter in the upper 40's or low 50's in winter. We occasionally do have freezing weather, seldom have snow, occasionally have icing in the winter. Huntsville isn't a huge city, have very few traffic problems (even during rush hour). Crime rate is low, and cost of living and property taxes (if you pay them) are some of the cheapest in the country. If you're looking for something in the south, you need to look at Huntsville too. Lot of outdoor activities because it is close to the biggest manmade lake in the country (about 30-45")- Lake Guntersville. Lot of bass fishing tournaments and other activities on the lake. Good places to go camping and hiking and boating. Even some creeks to go kyaking close by. I guess you can tell that I really do like it. But as far as the courts in this area go- they SUCK!
