Short outage
Members,
I am out of town on for a wedding... and found out that the site was down all day. No data was lost, and everything is back to normal.
I apologize for the inconvenience.

Re:Short outage
No problem. These things always seem to happen when I am unavailable. Normally if something like this happened I would notice it right away and have it back up before anyone noticed.

Re:Short outage
The site was down agian this afternoon. The hosting company the web server is leased from took the site offline due to a terms of service violation. Apparently someone sent their legal department a server log indicating that someone gained access to our web server and used it to "spoof" another server. I am not sure what this means, but I will investigate this as soon as I return.
Funny how this stuff happens when I am away and unable without access to the tools I need to resolve this in a speedy fashion. One more reason to be paraniod.
Thank you all for your patience and support.

Re:Short outage
Members,
As you may have noticed, the site was down again yesterday (Monday). The cause of all the downtime over the past 3 days, as well as the big crash a few months back when the database was lost have all been attributed to the same problem.
There was a security flaw in the operating system, which was enabling hackers to gain access and do their dirty deeds. I will not say who these parties were as it can not be verified, but I am sure you are all aware that there are those who are not so happy with what is going on at this site.
In any event, after the crash yesterday, our server was completely restored with and the operating system was reinstalled. I believe this will resolve these problems and that the server will remain stable for some time to come now.
My most heartfelt thanks go to all of you for your continued support through these rough waters.
Regards,
Sui Juris

Re:Short outage
Just glad that you are back up.& I've had so many problems with my computers lately, that I thought the problem was on my end.& I thought they had blocked me at work, and I spend a lot of time on the computer at work.& Work can be really slow sometimes, and I pass the time on Sui Juris.& Since my job requires a lot of computer work, nobody ever questions why I am on the computer so much. Just glad you are back up.
