When Bush goes down, that should trigger a world-wide exodus from the US dollar as we are watching already now.
Katrina was a VERY good thing for delaying the inevitable economic hyperinflationary period and ultimate demise of America's economy because it is forcing untold billions of printed fed notes into the economy. That is why "war" is often viewed as "good for the economy." Yeah, only good if you print money and back it with nothing. Notice how WW1 occurred right after the Fed Res was created.
My question is what happens to those stores who have stuff galore - like Costco and Walmarts. Do they have firesales or do they raise their prices when they see "money" become worth nothing or does looting ensue quickly as people desperately grasp for ANYthing now that their savings are basically looted in 72 hours?
Surely, they can't really restock if there is no stable currency.
As much as I was eyeing this cool classic car to buy, I am thinking it will go cheap when it all crashes. But then again, maybe asthetics may be the last thing on anyone's mind including mine when the handbasket arrives.
