WASHINGTON

(CNN) -- The FBI is guilty of "serious misuse" of the power to secretly obtain private information under the Patriot Act, a government audit said Friday.
The Justice Department's inspector general looked at the FBI's use of national security letters, in which agents demand personal and business information about individuals -- such as financial, phone, and Internet records -- without court orders.

Yep!! Absolutely wrong doing, and abuse power indeed. No doubt.

Is anyone really surprised? Not I! Been expecting it all along.

Heard on "Out There TV" last week that now all VoIP phone service providers have to assure the gov that they can record all Internet phone calls by May 2007, or lose their licenses.

That's why I don't like that internet phone service, it could be trouble.

This is the problem with licenses, they allow the state too much control. Of course the state just uses this control to broaden it power even more.

American governments, Fed, State and Local, are enforcing laws prohibiting smoking, drinking, drugs, etc.; Compelling individuals to have driver license, insurance, seatbelts, license plates, maintain autos, houses and grass, use script rather than actual money, etc.; and worst of all, binding Citizens to invisible contracts that steal their property in their children, homes, cars etc.; In short, Government offices are demanding that we, the individual people, get State or Federal permission for almost every use of our private property which it deems is a non conforming use as dictated by its current social plan for an ordered society. When any of us fail to follow this ordered social edict, the government sub-divisions gorge themselves with fines and penalties, while we, the individual people, lose one liberty after another, Even to the extent of being jailed for long periods of time for the infraction, if we fail to satisfy the State's deliberate march toward this ordered society. This isn't called Freedom
