MIT's Marauder's Map

In the third book of the Harry Potter series, Harry receives a magical map called the Marauder's Map that shows the exact location of everyone within his school. Apparently MIT liked the idea so much, they made their own.

Using MIT's new wireless network that extends across the entire campus, researchers developed mapping technology that tracks all Wi-Fi users accessing the MIT network.
