Old Testament Prophecy fulfilled in New

Some Old Testament Prophecies that were Fulfilled by Jesus Christ, the Messiah

ALL of these prophecies were made hundreds, sometimes thousands, of years before Jesus Christ was born. Looking at how He literally fulfilled many of them (with many more on the way), it is impossible that He is not the Messiah, the Saviour of the world.
Note: Some of these may not be that obvious (although a number of them are) to the “unlearned”, but if careful thought and study are given unto it, I believe you will find that they all line up. May the Holy Spirit enlighten your eyes and open your hearts so that you may know the truth about God. “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” 2 Tim: 2:15.

The only person...past, present and future...who could have fulfilled all of these prophecies is Jesus Christ. His genealogy (bloodlines) started from faithful Abraham.

The one that he failed to fulfill in his lifetime is the Worthless Shepherd prophecy of Zechariah. This is the one he immenentized through Judas but Judas failed to return with a sword and slay Jesus at the last supper. Worried because of Judas not returning to fulfill the prophecy, Jesus sent Peter to go buy a sword with coats...

Interesting spin, David. Many say that the "worthless shepherd" prophecy refers to the coming anti-christ and has yet to be fulfilled. As for Judas, he was a coward and did not need to kill Jesus himself all he had to do was let the Pharisees take care of it (he had no real axe to grind with Jesus, other than his disbelief in his being the messiah) as it was all about money as far as Judas goes. Besides that, it would have been very difficult to a) sneak a sword into the upper room and b) attack Jesus with all of the disciples present.

Also, there are many who believe that the purpose behind Luke 22:36 was to fullfill the Isaiah prophecy of 53:1 as you point out. Personally, I'm not too certain about that but I'm o.k. with it if true.

Because He has fullfilled so many of the older testament prophecies and because He died according to the Hebrew Scriptures, defeated death and is seated at the right hand of the Father now, we have assurance that Yeshua (Jesus ) is the Holy One of Israel, the promised Messiah. In Him we are:already seated in heavenly places, beloved, overcomer, redeemed, chosen, forgiven, saints and holy ones, sealed, free, uncorruptable, seated in Christ, accepted, annointed, faithful, in the word, sealed, guiltless before Him, Pilgrim, joint heir with Christ, abiding ones, santified, spirit led, adopted, citizen of Heaven, blood bought, Kingdom seekers, child of the King, priests and priestess , heaven bound, filled, known by God, accepted, servant of the Most High God, born again, receipients of the gift, a new person, dead to sin.....alive to Christ, sons and daughters of God, yolked with Him, healed, delivered, justified, santified, consecrated, friend of God, blessed, complete, good works in progress, blameless, freed from fear, guilt and shame, able to serve God with clean hands and a pure heart 24/7. How about that? That is just the basics of what the Lord has done for you....if your life is in Him. The budda died still looking for truth.......Jesus is the truth. He is the promised Messiah for Israel and for all people who seek Him. God sees 2 kinds of people, one are the saved, and the others are unsaved.........which group do you belong to this day? Saved people are Jews and Gentiles who have become One in Messiah Yeshua... unsaved follow darkness, they dont know the light of Messiahs love and the total acceptance found in Him. People, God is looking to give you the love and acceptance you crave, He is not looking to squash you like a bug, that is NOT His style. He is love and light. Wont you come into the light? Once the ruah ha kodesh (the holy spirit) takes up residence in your body, you are able to read and understand the scriptures...before we are born again, attempts at reading scripture are like reading someone elses mail....you know something about the people you read about, but until you have that relationship going on with God, you are just reading a book. The Scriputres are a real eye opener, when you understand that without God we can do nothing, it is a real pride buster. All the stuff we have previously taken credit for is worthless when it comes into the light of the Lord. When you know Him and are His child, you understand that whatever you do is in truth, Him working in you and through you. Yeppers, the Good News of Messiah Yeshua is available to all who seek Him. He has a people (the Jews) that He has chosen, but He has NO favorites. The invitation stands open, He knocks at the door of your very soul to sup with you and to give you a new life. .......that is eternal life, life with God, peace with God, the ultimate SHALOM, child of God, why are you looking for another way???
