The Encyclopedia Judaica, Volum 7, pp. 674 confirms that most of the terms were employed by the Canaanites to designate their pagen gods and the Israelites made the language of the Canaan their own to designate their own Deity. As well as Adon or "Adonai" which is closely related in meaning to Baal and is the Canaanite name like Adoni-zedek. The people of Yahweh slowly but surely forgot the name of their Creator, Yahweh. His name never came to be mentioned again except on the&Day of Atonement and then only by the High Priest in a very low tone voice where no one could hear him.& &
