My turn...

I am burned out of energy.

I have always fought the good fight, but I am getting older and very, very tired.

I have always been there to look out for my fellow man and provide the best that I can... but, as mentioned above, I am tired.

Next Matrix, please!

Southeast Contingent Concurring - But I'm not old----yet

Last night I was begging the Lord to please quickly fulfill 2 Pet 3:10 - 3:13.
  • 2Pe 3:10**
But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will be dissolved with fervent heat, and the eretz and the works that are in it will be burned up.

    2Pe 3:11**
Therefore since all these things are thus to be destroyed, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy living and godliness,

    2Pe 3:12**
looking for and earnestly desiring the coming of the day of God, by reason of which the heavens being on fire will be dissolved, and the elements will melt with fervent heat?

    2Pe 3:13**
But, according to his promise, we look for new heavens and a new eretz, in which dwells righteousness.

Next Matrix, please.

Brother WG, I will be lifting you up in prayer today for a refreshing of the spirit for ya.

I will lift you up as well, and pray that YVWH is the lifter of your head.

Wink Dear Wargames

I'll pray for you, too.
Just resolve to never stop the walk, no matter what. Many are tired and age makes no difference. Each year feels like a decade because the devil (system) wants us to give up. But the good Lord is with us. We should look and find strength in each other. We are a family, an spiritual one
Take heart.

You got it! I've quite literally conceded defeat.

Let's paraphrase: "Hear that, Mr. Anderson? That is the sound of inevitability. It is the sound of all things coming to pass...."

Wargames, I've spent my entire concious life being the proverbial "student of human nature." Nothing has facinated me more than simply "observing" the human condition. At 53 years of age, I'm split, right down the middle.

"People" (taken individually)--the average ol' ordinary "person," regardless of station in life or place on the planet--are basically "good," even if all that means is they seek to do no harm. At the same time, however, they lack what I'll simply call the "courage of their convictions." Oh yeah, "brave" as hell in all things military and when it comes to "defending your country" and killing others when ordered and blah blah blah. But in matters of INDIVIDUAL "moral" courage? What a bunch of wussies! "No, not me. I couldn't possibly do that! I have bills to pay and a family to support and blah blah blah..."

So the "evil" flourishes.

I'll contend, however, with my dying breath that this type of "attitude" and posture in no way "justifies" this type of "sheepness" to be "used" by those who give a damn for nothing but power and profit. But I DO understand it.

And that's what I've come to accept, period. "People" let themselves be used, and used up and nothing you nor I ever do will ever change it.

Put this way:

10,000 years of recorded human history proves what? That we have not changed one damned bit since we were created, crawled out of the ocean, whatever you believe. Yes, we have great "toys." Big-hairy deal. We are still just as inhuman as ever and refuse to look back and say, "Damn, we CAN do better."

So it IS inevitable. And I guess one of the remaining sources of my anger comes from the "religious" crowd. They, after all, continue to talk about "second comings" and the "mark of the beast," all of this apocolyptic-stuff, and yet simultaneously, they seem the most determined to fight a battle, the outcome of which was given, what, 2,000 years ago?

It's madness, and that's all it is.

It all comes down to the old, old joke:

"What's the difference between ignorance and apathy?"

Answer: "I don't know and don't care."

The only distinction to be made is for folks like us, all of the good people here at SJ: We DO know and we DO care. But here's the only way I can explain (just as I've always told my daughters):

Whenever you hear me say "I don't care," please know that what I really mean is this: "I DO care, very much, it's just something about which I can do nothing."

So, bring it on and let's get this mockery of a thing called "life" over with.

"Eat, drink, and be merry, for tomorrow you die." "Vanity of vanity, all IS vanity."

THAT should be the entire message of ANY gospel.

Now, what's say you and I spend the rest of our days enjoying the things that really matter, and simply ignoring the rest?

What...

... I absolutely do need a break/brake.

I think that I'll disconnect the net for the summer, and then come back in the fall... to check in and see if anything has changed herein... doubt it!
