Been digging around the Internet for the last few days ever since my Pastor taught briefly on the "Render to Caesar” passage.

This is the stuff of revival right here. Is it not? It seems that John Weaver hit it on the head with the apathy in the church with relation to Romans 13.

Be careful to understand that the coin, a Roman Denarion, had an image of Tiberias Caesar on it. It was not the local currency of the Israelites and had no place in the priest's purse who testified to the idolatry.

The Catholics (that is really the name of the Herodian accountant/cashiers) had been contracting the money supply for some time. This meant they were using that currency from Rome and other foreign powers to manage the Temple affairs so that the shekels would not go back into circulation (hoarding shekels). Then when the pilgrims would arrive for Pasach (Passover) and Succoth (Tabernacles) they would have to pay twice the value of shekels in order to pay the Temple Tax in shekels!

Maybe now you understand why Jesus got crucified after overturning the moneychangers' franchise tables in a rage...

Look at the Declaration of rights in your state constitution
Here's Florida'a (defacto constitution, at that)
SECTION 1.* Political power.--All political power is inherent in the people. The enunciation herein of certain rights shall not be construed to deny or impair others retained by the people.
